Congratulations to our Interact Club, Booker T. Washington School for the Performing and Visual Arts, for earning the Presidential Citation for the 2015-2016 year! This is especially impressive since this is the club's first full year!

Interact at Booker T. Washington School for the Performing and Visual Arts was established in February of 2015 and is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Dallas - Uptown. In one semester last year, the club had multiple meetings a month, attended the Rotary Peace Symposium, joined in the fun at the Spring Fling for all of the local Interact Clubs, painted dorm rooms and a bathroom at Promise House, made breakfast for the teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week and sent a student to Camp Ryla Summer 2015.

Interact is a club for young people ages 12-18 who want to join together to tackle the issues in their community that they care most about. Through Interact, students can:

  • Carry out hands-on service projects
  • Make international connections
  • Develop leadership skills
  • Have fun!
