Uptowners welcomed in the New Year with presentation of the District 5810 Membership Award to 2016-2017 Membership Chair, Judy Winkler. PDG Bill Dendy was here to present the award to Ms. Winkler. Congratulations, Judy!!
Also, we were treated to a presentation about historic Dallas theaters by Barak Epstein, director (through his company, Aviation Cinemas) of Oak Cliff's The Texas Theatre. This iconic movie house opened in 1931, and has a storied history, such as being the very location that Lee Harvey Oswald was arrest in 1963 after he allegely shot and killed President John F. Kennedy. For more information on The Texas Theatre, click here.
