The Oak Lawn Community Outreach Center, a ministry of Oak Lawn United Methodist Church, is proposing the creation of a new community outreach called “A Season of Seeds – The Greenhouse Project”.

This project would create a solar-powered, organic greenhouse which would include several components to address the needs of different segments of our community including the homeless, low-income families, and students. The greenhouse would provide fresh vegetables for the Gayle’s Kitchen Angels homeless feeding program, various low-income grocery-assistance ministries, as well as serving as a living laboratory for local students.

The project has the support of both Preservation Dallas as well as the Cedar Springs Merchants Association. Additionally, the Rotary Club of Uptown-Dallas has decided to fundraise for this effort.

“A Season of Seeds” promises to be a wonderful new addition to the Oak Lawn Community specifically and the city of Dallas as well.
