Our Interact Club at Booker T. Washington Receives Charter
We are so proud of the Interact Club at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. Interact is a Rotary sponsored club for youth ages 12-18 who want to connect with other young people in their community or school. Interact club members have fun while carrying out service projects and learning about the world.
The new club, sponsored by Rotary Club of Dallas Uptown, ended the current Rotary year with a meeting on Thursday, May 14th. A new charter was presented to the club, new officers were elected and their sponsor Ms. Szabo was presented with a Paul Harris Fellow Recognition.
In only four months, the new club has accomplished so much. The members designed a club t-shirt, attended the Rotary District 5810 Peace Symposium in January, had three club meetings in February, met two times in March and held their first induction dinner, three meetings in April and attended Rotary District 5810 Spring Fling.
The new club held its first service project at Promise House on April 25th, cooked breakfast for Teacher Appreciation Week on May 1 and met for the final meeting of the Rotary year on May 14th.
